This medicine usually makes you feel better within a few days but you should continue taking it as prescribed even when you feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Dissolve it in a glass of water before taking it. ZYX 50mg Tablet DT is to be taken with food.

ZYX 50mg Tablet DT is an antibiotic medicine. It is commonly given to children for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections targeting the ears eyes nose throat lungs skin gastrointestinal tract and urinary tract. It is also effective in treating typhoid fever in children and adolescents.Give this medicine to your child an hour before or two hours after meals. If your child develops a stomach upset prefer giving it with food. Make sure to stick to the prescribed dose because it is given keeping in mind the type of infection its severity and the age and bodyweight of your child. In case your child gags and expels the medicine within 30 mins of intake repeat the same dose but do not double dose if it's the time for the next dose.Do not give this medicine to your child in case of cold and flu symptoms as this medicine is an antibiotic and doesn’t work on infections caused by viruses. Doctors prescribe this medicine for cough and cold only when they detect any underlying secondary bacterial infection.Some of the minor and temporary side effects of this medicine include vomiting diarrhea nausea rash and headache. Dose adjustment of ZYX 50mg Tablet DT may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Do not panic. Unless your child’s doctor has advised a specific regime for your child you can give the missed dose as soon as you remember it. Skip the missed dose if it’s almost time for the next dose. Follow the prescribed dosing schedule and do not give the double dose to catch up.

However if you think you have given too much of ZYX 50mg Tablet DT to your child immediately speak to a doctor. Overdose may cause unwanted side effects and may even worsen your child’s condition.| Q. Are there any possible serious side effects of ZYX 50mg Tablet DT?::: Some serious side effects of this medicine include persistent vomiting kidney damage allergy diarrhea and severe gastrointestinal infections. Always consult your child’s doctor for help in such a situation.| Q. Can other medicines be given at the same time as ZYX 50mg Tablet DT?::: ZYX 50mg Tablet DT can sometimes interact with other medicines or substances. Tell your doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting ZYX 50mg Tablet DT. Also check with your child’s doctor before giving any medicine to your child.| Q. Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with ZYX 50mg Tablet DT?::: Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in a child who has just been vaccinated. However children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they recover from the illness. As soon as your child feels better the vaccine can be given.| Q. Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking ZYX 50mg Tablet DT on a long-term basis?::: The doctor may prescribe getting kidney function tests and liver function tests periodically to keep a check on your child’s condition.| Q. The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?::: Yellow or green mucus in the nose does not mean that antibiotics are needed. During a common cold it is normal for mucus to thicken up and change from clear to yellow or green. Symptoms often last for 7-10 days.| Q. My child is having a sore throat and ear infection. Can I give antibiotics?::: No. More than 80% of sore throats and ear infections are caused by a virus and antibiotics are not given for viral infections. If your child has a sore throat runny nose a barky cough pain and discharge from the ear it is most likely because of a virus. Consult your child’s doctor to seek guidance.| Q.
