Tor Plus 50mg/20mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines used to reduce excess fluid levels in the body while maintaining the potassium balance. It is used to treat edema (fluid overload) and some cases of hypertension.It is best to take Tor Plus 50mg/20mg Tablet in the morning along with food in order to avoid frequent urination at night time. For better results it is suggested to take it at the same time everyday.  The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you.Dehydration is very common side effect of this medicine. It might lower down the level of calcium sodium and magnesium in the blood. Hence regular monitoring of kidney function and electrolytes is important while using this medicine. It might cause dizziness or tiredness if happens rise slowly from sitting position or avoid driving.Before taking this medicine tell your doctor if you have any liver or kidney disease. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. You should also let your healthcare team know all other medicines you are taking as they may affect or be affected by this medicine.

Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. | - Driving : UNSAFE <p> Tor Plus 50mg/20mg Tablet may decrease alertness affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur. | - Kidney : CAUTION <p> Tor Plus 50mg/20mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Tor Plus 50mg/20mg Tablet may be needed. If you miss a dose of Tor Plus 50mg/20mg Tablet take it as soon as possible. However if it is almost time for your next dose skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you feel dizzy or lightheaded it is better to rest for some time and resume once you feel better. Do not drive or use any machines.| Q. Can the use of Tor Plus 50mg/20mg Tablet cause gout?::: Yes Tor Plus 50mg/20mg Tablet can cause gout. Tor Plus 50mg/20mg Tablet contains torasemide which can increase the blood uric acid levels by increasing its absorption from the kidneys. Increased uric acid levels can cause a gout attack. Inform your doctor if you have hyperuricemia (excess of uric acid in blood) or a history of gout before taking this medicine. Use of Tor Plus 50mg/20mg Tablet should be avoided in patients with gout.| Q. Can the use of Tor Plus 50mg/20mg Tablet cause dehydration (excessive loss of fluid)?::: Yes the use of Tor Plus 50mg/20mg Tablet can cause dehydration (excessive loss of fluid). The patient may experience dryness of the mouth thirst drowsiness restlessness muscle pain weakness tiredness fall in blood pressure (hypotension) decreased urination (oliguria) increased heart rate (tachycardia) nausea and vomiting. Inform your doctor if you experience persistent problems while taking this medicine.| Q. Can the use of Tor Plus 50mg/20mg Tablet cause hyperkalemia (increased potassium levels)?::: Yes Tor Plus 50mg/20mg Tablet can cause hyperkalemia (increased potassium levels). This occurs more commonly in patients with underlying kidney disease or in patients taking excessive potassium in their diet. High potassium levels can cause fatal heart problems. It is very important to get electrolytes and kidney function tests done on a regular basis while you are taking this medicine.| Q. What are the contraindications to the use of Tor Plus 50mg/20mg Tablet?::: The use of Tor Plus 50mg/20mg Tablet should be avoided in patients with hypersensitivity to torasemide sulfonylureas or spironolactone or any other ingredient of the product. The use of this medicine should also be avoided in patients with anuria acute renal insufficiency hepatic coma and pre-coma low blood pressure (hypotension) cardiac arrhythmias patients taking aminoglycosides or cephalosporins kidney dysfunction due to drugs which cause renal damage patients with high potassium levels (hyperkalemia) Addison's disease and in children with moderate to severe renal impairment.| Q. The use of this combination is advised in patients of congestive heart failure (heart failure leading to fluid accumulation in the lung and rest of the body) nephrotic syndrome (a kidney disorder) liver cirrhosis with fluid retention (edema) and swelling of the abdomen (ascites).| Q.
