If this infection is not treated it can lead to severe liver damage which can cause other life-threatening problems such as liver failure or may also be fatal.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew crush or break it. Tafsure Tablet is to be taken with food.

Tafsure Tablet is used in the treatment of HIV infection and chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. It prevents the multiplication of viruses in human cells. This stops the virus from producing new viruses and clears up your infection.Tafsure Tablet should be used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Take it with food as this increases the absorption of the medicine into the body. It is important to keep taking them until your doctor tells you it is safe to stop.Common side effects of this medicine include headache diarrhea nausea joint pain abdominal pain and indigestion. Please consult your doctor if it persists for a longer duration. These are usually not serious but tell your doctor if they bother you or do not go away. Rarely some people may experience a skin reaction or liver damage. Your doctor will closely monitor you for these in the initial period of treatment.Before taking it tell your doctor if you have any skin problems or liver or kidney disease. While using it you may need regular blood tests to check your blood counts and liver function. Avoid drinking alcohol as it may increase your risk of liver damage. Pregnant or breastfeeding mothers should consult their doctor before using this medicine. Do not have unprotected sex or share personal items like razors or toothbrushes if you are HIV positive. Talk to your doctor about safe ways like condoms to prevent HIV transmission during sex.

Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however there are limited human studies. | - Breast feeding : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED <p> Tafsure Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. | - Driving : UNSAFE <p> Tafsure Tablet may decrease alertness affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur. | - Kidney : CAUTION <p> Tafsure Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Tafsure Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. | - Liver : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED <p> Tafsure Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Tafsure Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

If you miss a dose of Tafsure Tablet take it as soon as possible. However if it is almost time for your next dose skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Does Tafsure Tablet prevent passing of HIV-1 and HBV to others?::: In case of HIV-1 infection Tafsure Tablet may reduce the risk of passing the virus to others but the chances of infecting others still persist. However in case of HBV infection Tafsure Tablet has not proven to reduce risk of transferring the virus to others. Therefore the patients of both HIV-1 infection and HBV infection should practice safe sex and should not share dirty needles.| Q. Is Tafsure Tablet safe?::: Tafsure Tablet is safe if used in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Take it exactly as directed and do not skip any dose. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully and let your doctor know if any of the side effects bother you.| Q. How should I take Tafsure Tablet?::: You should take Tafsure Tablet in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Tafsure Tablet works best when taken with meals or just afterwards. However taking it without food does not reduce its effectiveness. If you have any doubts consult your doctor.| Q. For how long do I need to take Tafsure Tablet for HBV infection?::: Duration of treatment will depend on the severity of HBV infection. You will need to take periodic blood tests to keep a check on the viral load and number of T cells. Your doctor will then decide the duration of the medicine accordingly. In some cases treatment is required life long.| Q. I vomited after taking Tafsure Tablet. What should I do?::: If vomiting occurs within 1 hour of taking Tafsure Tablet then you should take another tablet. However if you vomit after more than an hour of taking Tafsure Tablet then you need not take another tablet. Consult your doctor if you have vomiting every time you take Tafsure Tablet or if the vomiting persists for a longer duration.| Q. What should I do if I forget to take Tafsure Tablet?::: If you forget to take Tafsure Tablet within 12 hours of the time you usually take it take Tafsure Tablet with food as soon as possible and resume the normal dosing schedule. However if it had been more than 12 hours since you have taken the medicine and it is almost time for the next dose skip the missed dose and simply resume the usual dosing schedule.
