It usually starts to work within a few minutes and the effects can last up to several hours. Do not stop using it unless you are advised to by your doctor.

Meriphyllin Injection is used to treat asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (a lung disorder in which the flow of air to the lungs is blocked). It helps in relaxing the muscles of the air passages and making it easier to breathe.Meriphyllin Injection is given by your doctor or nurse. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect or be affected by this medicine.The most common side effects are nausea vomiting stomach upset headache and restlessness. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects.Before taking this medicine you should tell your doctor if you have any heart kidney and liver diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you. You should also tell your doctor if you are pregnant planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.

- Alcohol : UNSAFE <p> It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Meriphyllin Injection. | - Pregnancy : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR <p> Meriphyllin Injection may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor. | - Breast feeding : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED <p> Meriphyllin Injection is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.Avoiding breastfeeding for 2-4 hours after Meriphyllin Injection can further decrease the exposure of medicine to the baby. | - Driving : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR <p> It is not known whether Meriphyllin Injection alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react. | - Kidney : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR <p> There is limited information available on the use of Meriphyllin Injection in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor. | - Liver : CAUTION <p> Meriphyllin Injection should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Meriphyllin Injection may be needed. Does the use of Meriphyllin Injection cause insomnia (inability to sleep)?::: Yes the use of Meriphyllin Injection may cause insomnia. If you experience any sleep disturbances while using the drug consult your doctor.| Q. Does high doses of Meriphyllin Injection cause serious side effects?::: Yes high doses of Meriphyllin Injection can cause very serious effects. The patient may have nausea vomiting and stomach pain. The patient may experience a faster heart rate or may shake uncontrollably. Severe cases of overdose may cause seizures coma or may prove to be fatal. In case of overdose contact the nearest hospital emergency room immediately.
