These infections may include otitis media (ear infection) sinusitis (sinus infection) tonsillitis (infection of tonsils) dental abscess (tooth infection) pneumonia (lung infection) cellulitis (skin infection) and urinary tract infection. The presence of probiotics reduces the chance of side effects like stomach upset or diarrhea in your child which may occur due to the prolonged intake of antibiotics.\u003cbr>\u003cbr>Lactomox Tablet is also given for several infections that are suspected to be caused by the bacteria but the type of bacteria is not known (empirical therapy). Usually children start to feel better within 2-3 days of regular dosing. Make sure to finish the recommended course of the medicine as stopping the medicine abruptly may lead to ineffective treatment or worsen your child’s condition.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew crush or break it. Lactomox Tablet is to be taken with food.

Lactomox Tablet comprises one antibiotic and one probiotic medicine. It helps treat a multitude of bacterial infections including those of the ears eyes nose sinus tonsils tooth throat lungs skin gastrointestinal tract and urinary tract.Give Lactomox Tablet either with or without food but it is best to give it with food if it upsets your child’s stomach. It is generally given three times a day. Stick to the dose time and way prescribed by the doctor as these depend on the severity of the infection its type and your child’s body weight and age. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking the medicine repeat the dose when your child feels better. However do not double the dose if it is the time for the next dose.Lactomox Tablet can cause some minor and temporary side effects such as nausea vomiting headache abdominal pain and mild skin rash. These side effects should ideally subside on their own. But in case these side effects persist or become bothersome for your child report to the doctor without a delay.Tell your child’s doctor if your child has had any previous episodes of allergy heart problems blood disorders birth defects airway obstruction lung anomaly gastrointestinal problem skin disorder and kidney malfunction. Knowledge of your child’s medical history will help the dose make dose alterations and plan your child’s overall treatment.

Please consult your doctor. | - Liver : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED <p> Lactomox Tablet is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment of Lactomox Tablet is recommended.

Unless your child’s doctor has advised a specific regime for your child you can give the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it’s almost time for the next dose. Do not give a double dose to catch up and follow the prescribed dosing schedule.

Q. Are there any possible serious side effects of Lactomox Tablet?::: Although rare Lactomox Tablet may cause some serious side effects such as persistent vomiting kidney damage and allergy. Always consult your child’s doctor for help in such a situation.| Q. Can other medicines be given at the same time as Lactomox Tablet?::: Lactomox Tablet can sometimes interact with other medicines or substances. Inform your doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting Lactomox Tablet.| Q. Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Lactomox Tablet?::: Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in a child who has just been vaccinated. However children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they fully recover from the illness. Post recovery from illness the child can take the vaccine after consulting the doctor.| Q. The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?::: In the common cold the mucus changes its color and thickens up with time but this does not mean that your child needs antibiotics. Common cold symptoms often last for 7-10 days. In case they fail to clear up within this duration reach out to your child’s doctor for guidance.| Q. Is Lactomox Tablet safe for children suffering from infectious mononucleosis?::: No do not give this medicine to your child in this case as a high percentage of children with infectious mononucleosis develop a skin rash (erythematous rash) while taking Lactomox Tablet.
