If you miss a dose of Cortirate Cream apply it as soon as possible. However if it is almost time for your next dose skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule.

Q. Can Cortirate Cream be used for a long time?::: No Cortirate Cream should not be used for a long time. The doctor generally prescribes it for 2 consecutive weeks only. However the treatment can be longer for chronic (long-term) inflammatory conditions. Consult your physician before using this medication.| Q. Does Cortirate Cream cause severe skin reactions?::: Severe skin reactions are quite rare with Cortirate Cream. Cortirate Cream is an anti-inflammatory drug which is used to treat skin diseases skin reactions and eczemas. However skin reactions can occur in a person who is hypersensitive to Cortirate Cream. It is important to leave the affected area open after applying Cortirate Cream as using occlusive dressings (air- and water-tight dressing) can lead to skin reactions. The medicine may not itself cause a reaction but the added excipients with the medications can lead to a reaction in some cases. Inform your doctor immediately in case you encounter any skin reactions.| Q. Can Cortirate Cream be used on the face?::: No Cortirate Cream should not be used on the face. In addition to this Cortirate Cream should also not be used on the axillae (armpits) groin and if there is atrophy (wasting away of tissues) at the treatment site. In certain circumstances it can be exceptionally considered to be used by doctors. It should be used only after consultation with your physician and if possible the application on the face should be limited to a maximum of 5 days.| Q. Can Cortirate Cream be applied to children?::: Cortirate Cream is not recommended for use in children less than 1 year of age. It is also not recommended for use in older children and adolescents as the side effects are more common in them. In the pediatric population there is an increased risk of suppression of the immune system which may make the child prone to other diseases and atrophic changes hence it is not recommended. Still in some rare cases the doctor may recommend this medicine but the treatment is usually limited to 5 days and the therapy is reviewed weekly.| Q. Can we use Cortirate Cream in infections?::: Cortirate Cream is not an antimicrobial or antifungal agent. It is a steroid medication. It should not be used in infections as being a corticosteroid it suppresses the immune system and increases the risk of infections. Bacterial infections are prone to worsen if the infection is covered with a dressing after using Cortirate Cream. In case the inflammatory lesions get infected or there is any spread of infection consult your doctor immediately. The doctor will withdraw the use of Cortirate Cream and provide appropriate antimicrobial therapy.| Q. Can I stop taking Cortirate Cream when my symptoms are relieved?::: No do not stop taking Cortirate Cream and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before your treatment is complete. Stopping Cortirate Cream before your treatment is completed can bring back your symptoms.| Q.
