It stops the growth of the bacteria causing the infection and clears the infection. Take it for as long as prescribed by the doctor and avoid skipping doses. This will make sure that all bacteria are killed and they do not become resistant.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew crush or break it. Colbact 250 Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

It is also effective in typhoid fever and some sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea.Colbact 250 Tablet is taken orally preferably one hour before or 2 hours after a meal. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the return or worsening of the infection.Commonly seen side effects seen with this medicine include vomiting nausea stomach pain headache and diarrhea. These are usually temporary and subside with the completion of treatment. Consult your doctor if you find these side effects worry you or persist for a longer duration.Do not use Colbact 250 Tablet if you have a history of cholestatic jaundice or hepatic dysfunction that happened with the use of azithromycin. Also if your symptoms get worse inform your doctor immediately.| Q. Can the use of Colbact 250 Tablet cause diarrhea?::: Yes the use of Colbact 250 Tablet can cause diarrhea. It is an antibiotic which kills the harmful bacteria. However it also affects the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and causes diarrhea. If you are experiencing severe diarrhea talk to your doctor about it.| Q. Can Colbact 250 Tablet be taken at night?::: Colbact 250 Tablet is usually prescribed once daily. You can take it at any time of the day but remember to take it at the same time each day. The medicine should be taken 1 hour before meals or 2 hours after eating food.
