Carmidase is an enzyme preparation indicated to be used as a digestive aid. Carmidase contains fungal diastase 50 mg and pepsin 10 mg. Fungal diastase is derived from a fungus called Aspergillus Oryzae. Diastase helps in digestion of cooked starch. Pepsin helps in digestion of coagulated egg albumin. Carmidase is indicated as a digestion aid in elderly and for patients who have recently had a bout of gastrointestinal infection.
