In Low platelet count due to ITP or HCV infection Platify 25mg Tablet is used to increase the number of platelets (cells that help the blood clot) to decrease the risk of bleeding in adults and children 1 year of age and older who have chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP an ongoing condition that may cause unusual bruising or bleeding due to an abnormally low number of platelets in the blood). It is used in patients who have not benefited or cannot be treated with other treatments including medications or surgery to remove the spleen. Platify 25mg Tablet is also used to increase the number of platelets in people who have hepatitis C (a viral infection that may damage the liver). It is usually given along with other medicines.

Platify 25mg Tablet is used to treat low platelet count due to chronic immune (idiopathic) thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) or chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. It is also used to treat severe aplastic anemia.Platify 25mg Tablet is a thrombopoietin agonist. It works by stimulating the formation of new platelets in the blood. The function of platelets is to help reduce bleeding.Take it in the exact dose and duration as advised by the doctor. You may take it on an empty stomach. This medicine is to be swallowed as a whole. Do not chew crush or break it. Inform your doctor if you have any known allergies to this medication.The common side effects include nausea vomiting diarrhea upper respiratory tract infection and urinary tract infection. You should take the medicine on an empty stomach either 1 hour before or 2 hours after eating food. Avoid taking these foods four hours before and two hours after taking Platify 25mg Tablet. If you take these food items or supplements the medicine may not get absorbed into your body thereby not acting properly.| Q. How should I store Platify 25mg Tablet? ::: This medicine can be stored at room temperature between 20°C to 25°C. Close the bottle tightly and do not remove the desiccant pack if present inside the bottle as it helps to keep the medicine dry.| Q. Can Platify 25mg Tablet cause serious side effects?::: Platify 25mg Tablet can cause serious side effects like liver problems. The symptoms of liver disease include yellowing of the skin or the whites of the eyes pain in the upper right area of the stomach unusual darkening of the urine and unusual tiredness. The risk of liver problems increases if the patient is infected with hepatitis C virus or is being treated for it. Taking this medicine may also increase the platelet count in the blood increasing the risk of developing blood clots. This in turn increases your risk of getting a heart attack or stroke and may prove fatal in some cases. Ideally regular blood tests are done to monitor the liver functions and platelet count while taking Platify 25mg Tablet. Its use can also worsen cataract leading to blurring of vision.
